HISTAJECT

Chlorpheniramine is a first-generation alkylamine antihistamine used in the prevention of the symptoms of allergic conditions. Its sedative effects are relatively weak compared to other first-generation antihistamines. Chlorpheniramine is one of the most commonly used antihistamines in small-animal veterinary practice.
 

COMPOSITION
Each ml contains:

Chlorpheniramine Maleate IP                        :           10 mg

Phenylmurcuric Nitrate IP                  :           0.002 %( w/v)

(As preservative)

Water for injection IP                         :           q.s.

  • Anti histaminic and completely blocks release of Histamine
  • Ten times more potent than Pheniramine maleate

 

INDICATIONS

  • Inflammatory conditions like dermatitis, rhinitis, itching,
  • Laminitis, pruritus, mastitis, burns, drug reactions, stomatitis etc.
  • Ruminal atony in cattle.
  • Anaphylactic shock and hypersensitivity reactions,
  • Insect bite and excessive histamine release.

 

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
For I/M injection
Cattle : 30-50 mg (Total dose)

Sheep, Goat & Pigs     : 10-20 mg (Total dose)

Dog      : 0.4-2 mg/kg b. wt twice daily

or as directed by veterinarian
